About HUIT

HUIT is under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a public university offering multi-disciplinary, multi-level, and multi-mode training. The University was established on February 23, 2010 under Decision No. 284/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, on the basis of upgrading the Ho Chi Minh City College of Food Industry.

VISION TO 2035

By 2035, to develop Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade into one of the nation's leading application-oriented universities, holding a strong position regionally and internationally, and always pioneering in the field of food science and technology.

MISSION

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade is an educational and training institution that is multi-disciplinary, multi-field, multi-level, and has strengths in the field of food science and technology:

- Training human resources with ethics, knowledge, and skills that meet the demands of society;

- Promoting scientific research, technology transfer, and the development of multi-disciplinary, multi-field services;

- Fulfilling social responsibility, serving the community, and integrating internationally;

- Contributing to the building, development, and protection of the country.

Establishment and Development

HUIT is under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a public university offering multi-disciplinary, multi-level, and multi-mode training. The University was established on February 23, 2010 under Decision No. 284/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, on the basis of upgrading the Ho Chi Minh City College of Food Industry. The University's predecessor was the Ho Chi Minh City School for Economic and Technical Officials of the Food Industry, established under Decision No. 986/CNTP dated September 9, 1982 by the Minister of the Food Industry. The University was recognized as meeting higher education quality standards on May 3, 2017 under Decision No. 15/QĐ-TTKĐ dated May 3, 2018 of the Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Located in Ho Chi Minh City - the largest economic center of the country - the University is tasked with training human resources at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (master's, doctorate) and providing short-term professional development to meet the human resource needs of Ho Chi Minh City, the southern region, and the whole country.

Youth Union and Student Association Activities

At present, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of HUIT has over 15,000 members. Every year, the University's Youth Union is recognized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union as an outstanding grassroots union, and has also received numerous commendations from the Central Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

1. Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of HUIT is a socio-political organization that plays a core political role in all student activities. At present, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of HUIT has over 15,000 members. Every year, the University's Youth Union is recognized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union as an outstanding grassroots union, and has also received numerous commendations from the Central Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

2. Student Association

The HUIT Student Association was established in 2015. At present, the Association carries out many student activities under its action program, such as Green Summer, Spring of Love, Towards the Homeland's Seas and Islands, and other cultural and artistic activities.

4. Culture and Performing Arts

Culture and performing arts can be considered an activity regularly organized by the University, attracting a large number of students. The University-wide performing arts festival, held once a year, is an opportunity for HUIT students to assert themselves and a highly beneficial venue for exchange that connects all students of the University. In addition, the performing arts contests celebrating Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), the contest promoting Vietnamese revolutionary songs, the MC contest, "HUIT Student Charm," the Welcome Gala for new students, and more are held alternately with the University-wide performing arts festival, serving as a place to nurture and give wings to the artistic talents of the University.

5. Sports
